Both Kiron Sinha and Gertrude Sinha Hirsch were avid sketchers. Kiron made trips to the local Santal villages near Santiniketan, often with other artists, and recorded people doing their daily activities. Some of Kiron's sketches informed oils that he painted later in the studio.
